I’m so content sitting by the fire in my pajamas this morning watching the steady cascade of leaves blowing down from the trees in our backyard. Could it be that fall has finally come to Atlanta?
I haven’t even burned half of the Park Hill Collection Autumn Gathering scented candle I picked up last month at Lucy’s Market, but it would seem I need to get a move on! Signs of the holidays are already everywhere. I attended an Aquazzura shoe event on Friday at Saks and was momentarily stunned by the lights from their gorgeous creamy colored holiday decorations winking at me overhead. No. Way. In my house, Christmas is a comin’.
And with that, a lot of to-do’s for my already packed to-do list. Decorating the house, trimming the tree, the elusive Stamoulis family photo for Christmas cards, dreaming up creative gifts for family and friends, negotiating a menu for our formal Christmas dinner and so on. And right now all I want to do is read a book and paint my toenails. And drink coffee. Who’s with me?
Before pressing play on the Christmas carols, I think we should give Thanksgiving the attention she deserves. All the family, food and fellowship without the frenzy. I love it.
