“You are SO funny!” I get that a lot. But honestly, my extended family is so damn funny that I never even considered MYSELF all that funny until I moved away and met new people and those people said, “Hey, you’re funny!”
I think it boils down to my lack of filter. For instance, I literally cannot help myself from asking an acquaintance about nipple sensitivity after her boob job. Does it still feel good when her husband, you know? (She says yes. Hooray!) Or what did my American girlfriend DO when her travel buddy disappeared from their big night out woke up in a Reykjavik jail?
I’ve collected a lot of useful information from these conversations over the years. I think my own willingness to share compels others to confide the things they otherwise normally wouldn’t. When I think about it, it’s remarkable how MUCH people tell me!
I’m going to share some of these often informative, sometimes heartfelt and always entertaining moments with you. I’ll bring you straight to the source when I can and retell their story to you when I can’t. We’ll dish a little and laugh a lot. And I bet, like me, you’ll take away something from each person we encounter that will benefit you down the road.
