Earlier this week, I spent the most hilarious and enjoyable half hour chatting with Kendell and Dana from Deep South Details for their podcast. We talked about those exotic creatures known as men…made even more mysterious when they hail from the South. I gave the girls a sneak peek at a few of the items on my list of Father’s Day Gifts for the Modern SuthinGuy.

Brad Taylor Book 1

World War is on the horizon in New York Times bestselling author (Texas native and South Carolina resident) Brad Taylor’s tenth heart-pounding Pike Logan thriller, Ghosts of War. Release date: June 28, 2016. Available for Pre-Order Here. $11.99 Kindle, $17.47 Hardcover, $18.65 Paperback

OVERVIEW: The Taskforce has stopped countless terrorist threats across the globe, operating outside of US law to prevent the death of innocents. But now, along the fault lines of the old Iron Curtain, the danger is far greater than a single attack. With Russia expanding its influence from Syria to the Baltic States, the Taskforce is placed on stand-down because of the actions of one rogue operator.

Meanwhile, Pike Logan and Jennifer Cahill travel to Poland, hired to verify artifacts hidden for decades in a fabled Nazi gold train, only to find themselves caught amid growing tensions between East and West. A Russian incursion into Belarus under the facade of self-defense is trumped by a horrific attack against the United States, driving NATO to mobilize even as it tries to determine who is behind the strike.

On the brink of war, Pike and Jennifer discover that there is a separate agenda in play, one determined to force a showdown between NATO and Russia. With time running out, and America demanding vengeance, Pike and Jennifer race to unravel the mystery before a point of no return is reached. Unbeknownst to them, there is another attack on the way.

One that will guarantee World War III.

Carolina Kettles 2

In the 19th century a syrup kettle or sugar kettle was more or less a tool that had several applications around the farm. It was used as a syrup cooking pot, used to scald hogs at slaughter time, used to render lard and also as a water bath at canning time. Today they are primarily used as firepots. Carolina Kettles produces exact replicas of the original syrup kettles. Our kettles are simple but elegant.

Carolina Kettles produces four sizes of pots. Although there were more sizes available one hundred years ago, we produce thirty gallon, forty gallon, sixty gallon, and eighty gallon pots.

We also offer the luxury of customizing your kettle with your family, resort, property or hunting/fishing lease name on the lip. You can choose one of our handmade bases with original artwork panels and we are also making a cooking surface/oyster roasting surface for all four sizes of pots. Kettles range in price from $1225 to $1950.

(L-R) Shark Vertebrae Cufflinks in Sterling Silver $260; Rattlesnake Vertebrae Shirt Studs in Oxidized Silver $275; Alligator Scute Cufflinks in 14k Gold $2,410.

Gogo Jewelry has been transforming nature into wearable art for over 30 years. It all begins with a daily journey through an old maritime forest to the beach, something glistens, uncovered by the tide, awaiting to be transformed into timeless jewelry. This is the routine of jewelry designer Janet ‘Gogo’ Ferguson. Cumberland is the southernmost of the Georgia barrier islands, home of the Carnegie family for seven generations.

Island matriarchs Lucy Carnegie and granddaughter Lucy Ferguson instilled their wisdom and passion for the natural beauty of the island in generations to follow.
